Bart Hendrix (speaking) is a digital designer currently based in Amsterdam. Having graduated a few years ago as human geographer, I've spent most of the time since making, and learning how to make, pretty looking things. The medium has for the largest part become the computer.

My first serious job was at a small NGO in Moshi, Tanzania . Although I certainly enjoyed it, a point of no return was reached when I was given the assignment to make an illustrated poster. I've always enjoyed illustrating and once I'd finished the poster I'd made up my mind to decline the offer of a sunny future in developmental issues and head back to Holland.

Despite the fact that the view from the window has never been as spectacular, I'm glad I did. I've been able to pursue my graphical ambitions in the role of cartographer, web designer, and animator, and every new adventure seems to provide more possibilities.

All in all, the area I find the most exciting is the combination of tasteful design and well-thought out scripting - put the two together and there's a seemingly endless number of new, different and exciting ways to make them pretty looking things!
